The Twilight Saga star
Kristen Stewart was in talks to join the Warner Bros con artists film
Focus, which
Glenn Ficarra and
John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love) wrote and will direct.
Just a couple of weeks after Stewart confirmed that she will be appearing in the upcoming film,
Ben Affleck is reportedly dropping out of it. The same source revealed that the Argo star very much wanted to do the film, but he has been unable to fit the project into his already-packed timetable.
In other words, Affleck didn't feel he had the time to make the April (13) start date because of his numerous other commitments, such as writing, directing, producing and staring in
Live by Nigh, then
The Stand and the
Whitey Bulger project in development. Additionally, he has been doing numerous promotional appearances for Argo, and he is eyeing a possible Massachusetts senate race.
The Daredevil star was originally on board to play Stewart's love interest, shooting passionate kissing scenes, and there's also quite a lot of flesh in that. Stewart is cast as ‘an inexperienced con artist' who hooks up with Affleck to learn the tricks of the trade.
The studio will now look for the actor who can step in order to meet the start date.
