DreamWorks Animation, in collaboration with Universal, is set to dazzle audiences this September with their latest creation, The Wild Robot. Based on Peter Brown's beloved, award-winning book, this epic sci-fi adventure promises to blend technology with nature in a visually stunning, emotionally resonant tale.
In a newly released featurette titled “A Wild Vision,” we get an intimate look at the artistry and passion poured into this project. Directed by the three-time Oscar nominee Chris Sanders, known for his work on How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and Lilo & Stitch, the film is poised to be another classic in the making.

The Wild Robot tells the story of Roz, an intelligent robot stranded on an uninhabited island after a shipwreck. Voiced by the talented Lupita Nyong'o, Roz must navigate her new environment, forging bonds with the island's animals and caring for an orphaned baby goose. This touching narrative explores themes of self-discovery and the intersection between technology and nature.
The featurette highlights the film's unique visual style, a soft painted look reminiscent of DWA's Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. This aesthetic perfectly complements the story's natural setting, creating an immersive experience for viewers. As Sanders explains, the goal was to craft a visually rich, emotionally engaging world that brings Peter Brown's vision to life.

The star-studded cast includes Pedro Pascal as the cunning fox Fink, Catherine O'Hara as the crafty opossum Pinktail, Bill Nighy as the wise goose Longneck, and Kit Connor as the adorable gosling Brightbill. Additional voices include Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames, each bringing their unique talents to this heartwarming tale.
Produced by Jeff Hermann and executive produced by Dean DeBlois, The Wild Robot is set to hit theaters on September 27th, 2024. This film promises to be a visual and emotional feast, appealing to both children and adults.
Whether you're a fan of the original books or new to Roz's story, The Wild Robot is a must-see. Don't miss this extraordinary blend of heart and technology, set to enchant audiences worldwide.
