Bryan Singer has
tweeted out a first look at
Nicholas Hoult as Beast in
X-Men: Days of Future Past, which combines both new and old casts of the film franchise for one large time-travel adventure.
It looks like Beast is going through some new changes.
The image came with the following caption:
Many a monster wears the form of a man; it is better of the two to have the heart of a man & the form of a monster
The quote comes from Jeanne Marie Le Prince de Beaumont's original story ‘
Beauty and the Beast.'
The official plot from the mythology involves Shadowcat (
Ellen Page) traveling back in time to warn past X-Men of an event that could rock the globe.
Actually, the storyline
alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.
X-Men: Days of Future Past all-star cast members also include
Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin,
Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, and
Boo Boo Stewart.
The film is set to be released in theaters on July 18th, 2014.
