Variety, who report that Banderas has completed the screenplay and will also produce & fully-finance the project via his
Green Moon.
The movie will center on an African boy named Akil who reaches Spain in a small boat. Fleeing from the police, he takes shelter in the house of an American woman (let us guess – it's Griffith!)
And that's basically all we know about
Akil so far. Except that Banderas also mentioned that the movie is:
…a love story between two completely different people – in age, attitude, religion, wealth – who end up being essential to each other.
