Andy Fickman remained fully committed to making comedy as he reportedly signed on for an English-language remake of the German hit
Over My Dead Body (Nur über meine Leiche).
The original, written by Rainier Matsutani and Sebastian Niemann and starring Christoph M. Ohrt and Katja Riemann is about a womanizer who dies, goes to hell and makes a deal with the devil that if he can heal three broken hearts he gets a second chance at life.

Dan Cohn have joined as writers with Fickman also co-producing along with Tony Bain, Betsy Sullenger (Oops Doughnuts) and Matt Williams, David McFadzean, Judd Payne and Dete Meserve (Wind Dancer).
Fickman’s domestic comedy, Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler opens on Christmas Day this year.
Fickman, who previously directed She’s the Man, Race to Witch Mountain, You Again and The Game Plan, has other projects on the horizon that include an adaptation of the classic cartoon Jonny Quest, the neighborhood swim team comedy Pool Rats and the romantic comedy Muskrat Love.
