All is Lost – yes, we're definitely interested in this great-looking survival film, and that's exactly why we want you to take another look at
Robert Redford, who stars as a man lost at sea, and… well, he's struggling to survive the disaster, what else? We already shared the official
trailer, now it's time to add the very first poster for the movie which has a quite simple (but motivational) message:
never give up!
Written and directed by
J.C. Chandor, and starring only Redford, the movie follows one man's battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. That kind of shit can easily happen when you take a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean.
So, he wakes to find his 39-foot yacht taking on water after a collision with a shipping container left floating on the high seas. With his navigation equipment and radio disabled, the man sails unknowingly into the path of a violent storm.
And here's the rest of the story:
Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.
Say what you want, but this definitely looks awesome!
Hope we'll soon have more clips or another trailer to share, but in the meanwhile –

All is Lost opens in limited theaters on October 18th, 2013.
