Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel and Biutiful are film titles linked in Mexican filmmaker
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's vision of the interrelatedness of human suffering.
Now Inarritu's spreading his wings to take a different approach at something new: he's set to direct a comedy called
Birdman.
Therefore, the director has written the project with
Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris and
Armando Bo.
The indie flick follows a former thesp, ‘who once played an iconic superhero, as mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim past glory. The movie will take place in one location over the course of three days as the actor juggles family, career and his sanity.'
Inarritu, who is also producing with Robert Graf and John Lesher, is eyeing a start in March for a likely 2014 release.
The filmmaker is still moving forward with the gritty revenge wilderness project The Revanant, a screen screen adaptation of the Michael Punke novel, which has caught the eye of
Leonardo DiCaprio. Another project we assume is still in development is previously called The Flim Flam Man, which may be titled Red Flag now and
Sean Penn may star in it.
Stay tuned.
