We already wrote about the upcoming Derick Martini‘s indie drama Hick, but it's always a good moment to share the latest casting updates with you.
So, check it out, Alec Baldwin and Rory Culkin will join the cast that, as we previously reported, includes Chloe Moretz, Blake Lively, Eddie Redmayne, Juliette Lewis and Ray McKinnon.
As you already know, Hick is based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Portes, which follows “a 13-year-old Nebraska girl who gets more than she bargained for when she runs away to Las Vegas.”
You can find the official description of the novel right here on Filmofilia in one of our previous reports, but we're now going to share a description from Content Media, which definitely sounds different:
Hick is a stylish, often funny and a heartfelt coming-of-age story about 13 year old Luli's life on the road. Whatever is thrown at young Luli only makes her stronger and more defiant, and yet somehow she is able to remain undefeated and undeterred from her goal for a better life. It is this courage that makes ‘Hick' an incredible story and an inspiration to all…
At this moment still no details about Baldwin's and Culkin's characters, but we'll definitely going to keep an eye on every new update.
At the end, let us also mention that the film will head to Cannes and look for buyers with a teaser being shown to interested parties.
