Ok, you're going to love this! Remember that Frank Sinatra biopic thing we already wrote about?
So, if you remember it, then you also remember that legendary Martin Scorsese is in charge for this project? Ok, then, check out what Scorsese said in a recent interview:
“I'm yet to spot the actor who can bring back Frank Sinatra alive on screen. My choice is Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro as Dean Martin.” Yes, please!
So, basically, we already had a chance to hear a lot of details about this biopic, mostly from several Scorsese's interviews. So, let's remind them.
Back in March, he told that he was still working on the screenplay for his film, but had decided that it should focus on several periods of his subject's life, suggesting that Sinatra might be played by more than one actor:
“We can't go through the greatest hits of Sinatra's life. We tried this already. Just can't do it. So the other way to go is to have three or four different Sinatras. Younger. Older. Middle-aged. Very old.
You cut back and forth in time – and you do it through the music. See what I'm saying? So that's what we're trying for. It's very tricky.”
The film is currently without any sort of release date, and it would mark Scorsese's first collaboration with Pacino and tenth with De Niro.
Scorsese's next movie will be The Invention of Hugo Cabret, based on the children's book by Brian Selznick, a story of a young boy who lives in the walls of a Paris train station and eventually encounters Georges Melies and his fabulous automatons.
Looks like we'll just have to wait and see what will happen with Frank Sinatra's biopic, and Scorsese's intentions to make it really good project with excellent cast. We'll definitely keep an eye on it, so make sure you stay with us!
