Adrianne Palicki perfecting the scene on Wonder Woman Set in Hollywood!
Adrianne Palicki to Play the Female Lead in the G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes Sequel
Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki has scored the female lead role in Paramount Pictures' sequel G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.
Star of rejected Wondar Woman TV pilot will play Lady Jaye along with cast that includes returning star Channing Tatum, and new additions RZA as Blind Master, Elodie Yung as Jinx and Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock . Ray Park and Byung Hun-lee are anticipated to reprise their roles as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in the Jon Chu-helmed movie.
Introduced in the 1980s animated series, Lady Jaye is the team's covert-operations specialist and an accomplished actress and linguist having a knack for impersonation. Lady Jaye is codename for Alison R. Hart-Burnett, originally created for the 1984 G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series. Oh, I almost forgot, she shares a romantic relationship with Dashiell R. Faireborn – aka Flint – who is the Warrant Officer for the G.I. Joe Team and will be played by D.J. Cotrona in G.I. Joe 2.
With JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel deemed not ready in time for public consumption, Cobra Strikes and Brad Pitt zombie apocalypse thriller World War Z will be Paramount's current offerings.
G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes opens August 10, 2012. No word yet about whether or not Joseph Gordon Levitt will return as Rex. Also Stephen Sommers, director of the first installment, is no longer on board. Are you interested to see what Chu does with this new 2012 sequel?
And who will be playing the original G.I. Joe, Joe Colton? While Bruce Willis is obviously the top choice, the studio is eying several different actors. Stay tuned and watch how Palicki was perfecting the scene on Wonder Woman set, but in vain.
