Due to a variety of factors,
Adam Sandler will be replacing Mark Wahlberg in
Three Mississippi, a football-themed comedy for Warner Bros. originally called Turkey Bowl.
A little over a year ago
we reported that Adam McKay was set to direct
Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and
Alec Baldwin, however, because of the surprise Anchorman sequel, McKay was out as well and
Sean Anders was brought in to replace him.
Since Wahlberg recently signed on to Peter Berg's Lone Survivor and Anders having just directed Sandler in That's My Boy, the latter became the natural replacement for Wahlberg, despite the fact that Wahlberg the actor who the film was originally written for.
The movie is about rival football coaches of small-town teams of two families who meet annually for a Thanksgiving Day big showdown even though one family consistently loses. No doubt, this could be a match in idiot-comedy heaven.
Is there's enough room on screen for both Sandler and Ferrell to coexist?
Stay tuned.
