The Missionary is an upcoming HBO spy drama pilot, where Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul could star as the lead. I say – could – because the guy is still in talks to join the project, but I guess he's smart enough not to refuse this great offer…
And what's so great about this pilot? Well, first of all, there's pretty awesome team behind the whole thing.
We already know that Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, writer Charles Randolph and best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell will all serve as executive producers for The Missionary.
Then – the plot looks just fine. The story is set in Berlin in the late 1960s, and will center on a young American missionary who becomes involved with the CIA.
According to Deadline, Randolph and Gladwell, who are friends, had been working on an idea for a spy project when they met with the above mentioned Levinson and Wahlberg who also had been looking to do a spy drama.
So there you go – we'll soon have an interesting spy-drama series on HBO!
