“
The A-Team” movie trailer has hit the web.
Joe Carnahan‘s (Narc, Smokin' Aces) big screen adaptation of the 80's TV show stars
Liam Neeson (Hannibal),
Sharlto Copley (”Howling Mad” Murdock),
Bradley Cooper (Faceman), and UFC fighter
Quintin “Rampage” Jackson (B.A. Baracus). Screenplay is penned by
Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Carnahan, and Carnahan's writing partner
Brian Bloom. The producers are
Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Jules Daly, Stephen J. Cannell, Alex Young, Iain Smith, and
Spike Seldin.
Carnahan and the Scott brothers say they will use the original premise of the series as the template for an action film. In the original, four Vietnam vets convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison and became do-gooder mercenaries. The Middle East will replace Vietnam as the place the four did their tour of duty, but Carnahan said the origin story is the jumping-off point.
“The A-Team” is scheduled to hit theaters on June 11th, 2010.
