A brand new batch of photos from the upcoming adventure/drama On the Road has been released.
Twilight star Stewart takes on the role of Mary Lou in the drama, which is based on the acclaimed Beat Generation novel from Jack Kerouac. Francis Ford Coppola‘s 30-year struggle to bring Kerouac's legendary novel to the big screen is finally a reality. Coppola served as executive producer on the film, which was directed by Brazilian filmmaker Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries), and adapted by Jose Rivera.
The film also stars Sam Riley as Sal Paradise (aka Jack Kerouac) and Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady in real life) as two friends who take to the highways on three occasions from 1947 to 1950.
Additional cast include Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen, Elisabeth Moss, Terrence Howard and Steve Buscemi.
On the Road will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival but there's no U.S. date yet.
