Set in the summer of 1965, “Moonrise Kingdom” follows two-twelve-year olds who fall in love and run away into the wilderness, all the while keeping a secret pact. Unfortunately for the kids, they live on an island off the coast of New England and a storm's coming. The usually tranquil island community is turned on its head as various authorities, from the sheriff to the local boy scout leader try and track down the couple.
Moonrise Kingdom is directed by Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox) who also co-wrote the screenplay with Roman Coppola.
Featuring an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban, this new film opens in select theatres on May 25th, 2012.
